In the past two and half years of this ministry God has transformed the lives of many girls through counseling sessions, Bible study, and discipleship. Between 2021-2025 GMI missionaries Jack and Jane want to support 25 girls to complete their secondary school education. The exploitation of girls in rural areas in Malawi is very high. With schools being closed for much of 2020, it is very heartbreaking that within a period of a month the country has received nearly 15,000 cases of complaints relating to teen girl exploitation with over 7,000 cases relating to teen pregnancies. In every school year’s enrollment, at least 56% of the girls drop out of school due to early marriages, teen pregnancies, uninvolved parents, harmful cultural practices that introduce teen girls to premarital sex, loss of parents due to HIV/AIDS, prostitution, and extreme poverty. Many girls would want to continue with secondary school but because the fees are seen to be very high by most guardians, they force their children into early marriages.
