Simon & Edah Mwanamoya
Doing sports ministry is our passion. Church planting through discovery Bible study in and through sports is our ministry. Disciple making through mentoring and coaching is our DNA.
Our Sports Ministry aims to serve churches that teach about God’s grace, empower sports leaders, and equip coaches to transform their communities through sports.
I, Simon Mwanamoya, have been involved with churches that teach the grace of God as a pastor for 22 years, I have been active in sports ministry for the last 14 years in Zambia and Africa as a whole, and I recently came on board with GMI as a missionary.
My family and I have been called by God to serve in Eswatini with GMI and also to open the new field responsible for coordinating the ministry. The call to
Eswatini has been on our hearts for a long time. We now feel it is the right time to go to Eswatini. Our target to leave for Eswatini is May/June 2022. Currently, we are working on the registration of GMI, making sure we have all the registration papers in place and other documentation needed for our work permits.
I serve in the following ways:
• Facilitating, mobilizing, conveying young leadership development and
discipleship movement training in Zambia/Eswatini and beyond.
• My personal dream is to see young leaders with a passion for ministry
emerge and lead, where they will equip with the message of Grace and
empower a young generation of sports leaders for strategic and unreached
areas and church planting.
My wife, Edah, and I have been blessed with five beautiful children. Shalom is 20 years old and she is going to college next year. She LOVES the Lord. Eunice is 15 years old with the passion to see peace in Africa. She is in grade 10. Simon Jr. is 12 years old and loves soccer. He is in grade 8. Daniel is 10 years old and a very cool, kind person with big dreams; he is in grade 6. SanteMercy is our youngest daughter who is turning four years. Edah works as a tailor, equipping disadvantaged women with tailoring skills with 200 women in Kabwe, Zambia, in women’s leadership development.
