Zimbabwe_flagZimbabwe_flag2GMI’s connection to Zimbabwe began in 1999 with a trip by Kennedy Simtowe at which time he conducted seminars in the town of Norton about 25 miles southwest of Harare. Following that seminar, he was able to start a small Bible study group (preaching point).

After several follow-up visits in 2001 Kennedy identified a key couple, Givemore and Sylvia Nyakambiri–Givemore resigned from his employment and committed to go to Zambia Grace Bible Institute (ZGBI) that same year. After his graduation in 2002, Givemore and Sylvia returned to Zimbabwe and began a work in Chinhoyi, GMI’s second preaching point. Due to Givemore’s ministry, GMI was able to open up its third preaching point in Kariba town on the Zambian border.

Currently, we have only one congregation meeting in Chinhoyi which Givemore has been pastoring. We still have contacts in Kariba and Norton which Kennedy is working with to reopen those works.

Following Kennedy’s visit to Zimbabwe in January 2014, GMI started a new preaching point in Saliban district about 60 miles northeast of Harare. Nine men have been identified who will be discipled and mentored as future leaders. Kennedy continues to travel to Zimbabwe conducting seminars, encouraging local churches, and evangelizing.
