Building Bridges in Malawi

Since April, GMI has been promoting a project to build a bridge over a river in Malawi where several people have been killed or maimed by crocodiles while trying to cross to the other side. This month, GMI missionaries Jack and Jane, serving in this region of Malawi, are so grateful to the Lord to report that the bridge has been completed, officially dedicated, and ready for the upcoming rainy season when the river bed will once again be full and the crocs will be active.

Aside from local tribal and political leaders, many from the community attended the dedication ceremony, including two guests of honor: Ernest, who lost his dad, and Justin, who lost his leg to crocodiles at the very spot the bridge was built.
