Ted & Kim Rabenold

Ted and Kim Rabenold have been serving in Tanzania since 1991. All three of their adult children—Colton, Sierra, and Savannah—grew up in Tanzania. The family learned to speak Swahili and settled in the remote southwest Rukwa region where they began pioneering work.

Their ministry is aimed at impacting the “whole man” physically and spiritually. The Rabenolds have developed two mission stations, first in Mumba village and then in Kapenta village. They constructed a Bible college, a vo-tech school, a lay Bible training center, and a health center. With their excellent team of Tanzanian leaders they are developing water projects, sunflower oil presses (to help farmers diversify their income), fish farming, beekeeper training, livestock improvement projects, and horticultural work. They are also introducing new species of high-yield fruit and board trees through their two tree nurseries. These nurseries are the only ones providing valuable Teak trees for the Rukwa people.

Their primary focus in terms of spiritual work is leadership training and the discipleship of men and women who will impact Tanzania for the Gospel. They seek to help men and women recognize their God-given gifts, as well as encouraging other leaders around them. It is their firm belief that by developing leaders who develop other leaders, instead of accruing followers, the whole Rukwa region will be impacted. Three of the men on their leadership team have been with them for 25 years.

As Ted and Kim Rabenold move to another part of the Rukwa Valley in Tanzania to begin a new outreach, they have been raising funds to construct an agriculture training center, build their home, and acquire the necessary equipment to get this new ministry started. Through God’s grace the funds have come in for building the training/team house, buying a tractor and implements, as well as buying a reliable used vehicle for the work. They are so grateful for your kind and generous donations to this new work. They still need to raise $28,000 to build their home, as well as $10,000 for an electric solar system as they live off the grid.
