Ronnie and Jaque Mackensen
Ronnie has been a GMI-affiliated short-term missionary with BreakThrough, a GMI-affiliated taekwondo team, which has used this unique medium to bring awareness of the grace of God to the churches in Costa Rica, Paraguay, and the United States. He has also used martial arts as an evangelism tool to build relationships and to give BreakThough and the local missionaries the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jaqueline is from Brazil and started to learn English from her future pastor who during his teaching and preaching always showed the gospel to her.
Ronnie and Jaque are taking classes at the Berean Bible Institute (BBI) in Slinger, WI, to better prepare for their life in Panama. In addition, they are currently residing in Nicaragua to learn the Spanish language and to work alongside other GMI missionaries serving there.
When Jaque made her decision to become a Christian, she had amazing friends who challenged her to study the Bible and to do ministry. Some years later she understood the importance of missions and made her decision to pursue becoming a missionary instead of being a teacher which was her field of education.
As a new missionary, she is willing and excited to serve God under Grace Ministries International (GMI). The plan is to go to Panama to start a new field along with three other missionaries, evangelize, plant churches, and encourage and train men and women so they may continue the work in Panama.
Panama is GMI’s newest mission field and Ronnie and Jaque will be joining Alvaro and Mauren Barrantes there. They hope to use their experiences as effective methods to bring people to the church and also to proclaim the gospel. The goal for the Panama missionaries is to plant a church and build the church Body.
